Caught Everything The River's Got
A big thanks to Chris and the guys in Saint George! I had a local fishing tourney through SUBA and threw nothing but big Gitzit tubes. I called late Thursday evening and Chris and the guys set me up with some awesome big tubes. Long story made short throwing those tubes help me win the tourney and also get big fish for the tourney! Big Fish was a nice 7.lb large mouth bass! Thanks again, gained a fan for life!
Tourney Winner
WOW!! Fished GITZIT’S monster 6” tubes in color #136 with his 1 oz. mushroom heads. First cast landed a 5.14lb large-mouth, second cast a 4.12lb slammed it. After that I took the boat to where the client and I were casting and the graph lit up a large school, so I threw out a marker buoy and we picked them off for the next hour. The two mentioned above were the largest we caught but did proceed to land a number in the 3-3.5lb range. We totaled 28 for the four hours we fished. So much fun catching fish on large baits – Great pattern on this tube Chris!!
Monster 6" Tubes Are Slammin' It

State Championship with Gitzit Tubes!
Last Saturday I was test driving a Hobie kayak I just bought in the Sunset Beach, CA bay. I was using all types of soft 3″ plastics trying to urge some strikes from Sandies bass and maybe a halibut. Needless to say after three hours, I was about to hang it up when I noticed a large cloud of bait fish in various parts of the bay. The wind was kicking up and the only plastic jig I had that matched the bait was the Minnow Paddle Fry (MPF). The MPF was getting a few bites landing a small sandie. The next one was a big bite, taking line (4lb Maxi) but I never saw it, eventually coming off. Needless to say the third was another good size fish. I fought this fish for about 10 minutes and it kept taking line when it got closer to the boat. Finally I netted the fish, which was a 25″ flattie (halibut). Also noticed that the MPF was still in excellent shape after the back and forth with the flattie. Just ordered more paddle fry’s and next time I drive through St. George, UT, I will make it a point to stop by and purchase more jig heads and other plastics. The paddle fry saved the day from what looked like a total skunk. Thank you Gizit.
PaddleFry Saves the Day
On a recent weekend my partner James Lenney and myself used the Gitzit Spider Jig to fool many good sized small-mouth bass. With conditions being less than ideal and not expecting much, the jig produced 8 quality bites rewarding us with 16 lbs and a respectable top 4 finish. The conditions for the next days event looked to be a lot better and the jig did dot disappoint. Between the two of us we boated over 50 small mouth over 3 lbs. End result was 17 lbs and a first place finish. All aspects of the Gitzit line continue to produce quality fish for us and I would find it difficult to use anything else when it counts. Keep up the good work guys!
17 Lbs and a 1st Place Finish
I just got back from a trip to Lake Powell with my 5 kids. We fished for stripers in the usual way of chumming with, and baiting with anchovies. We had 4 rods with real bait and 2 with a Gitzit paddlefry. I cant explain it but the paddle fry artificial bait caught 7 of the 11 fish, even though it was only on 2 rods. The next day none of the kids wanted to use the “stinky bait” anymore but all wanted the paddlefry and again caught fish without and real bait. Thanks for a good lure and helping me keep my hands clean.
Keep Your Hands Clean With PaddleFry's
I’ve recently started competitive kayak bass fishing in a league that is country wide. I target small-mouth bass and in the first “challenge” they are month long contest I finished 3 out of 131. My largest fish in May was 21 1/4″ weighting 5lbs. I credit my success to the chartreuse tubes they were amazing I caught 15 fish above 18″ and 3 were 4lbs. Great product long lasting and fantastic action in the water. Thank you look forward to many more top 3″s and better!!!
Competitive Kayak Bass Fishing
I started using Gitzit lures several years ago. We primarily fish for small-mouth in WV and PA. When I started my guide service Gitzit was the only tube that I recommended to my clients, why? Because simply put they are the most durable plastic tube you can buy. When you drag tube through rock and gravel like the New River offers and they last more than a half dozen fish there GOOD. Even though I no longer operate a guide service I like to fish for BIG small-mouth in the New River in WV. This year I had to ask Gitzit to pour me our #1 color because we could not find it any where. You might ask how good are they, well I bought a 1000! I’ve told dozens of clients you want to save money on hunting or fishing stuff ask a guide what he uses he has to depend on it to make a living or survive he doesn’t get paid from endorsement fees “usually”, only buy his clients.
Most Durable Plastic Tube You Can Buy
Your product is great and it is just about the only soft plastic that I use to catch fish. I would love to order more Paddle Fry jig heads but I don’t see that you sell them in bulk anymore. I believe that the Paddle Fry Jig Heads is a major part of why the Paddle Fry is so successful. I catch more fish off the actual Paddle Fry head than using a different kind of jig head.

Highest Quality Baits
For the last 8 years, the Little Tough Guy has been the most reliable fish catching jig I have. They are as tough as they are realistic. I recently ordered and received some of the Helpless Size Crappie Bluegill jigs and can’t wait to use them.
Most Reliable Fish Catching Jig
The Micro Little Tough Guy has been my best ice fishing lure for the past two years. It has caught plenty of crappie and largemouth bass up to 8 lbs. Raised towards the surface very slowly has been the best technique.
Best Ice Fishing Lure
Gitzit, Thank you so much for inventing the Paddle Fry. I have caught so many fish on it, it is amazing! Last spring I caught a 5lbs large mouth bass on the Shad Paddle Fry. Not only do I catch big bass, I catch nice sized trout as well. This lure is a must have in everyones tackle box! Thank you, Gary
Thanks for the PaddleFry
First, let me start by saying, thank you for the sample baits. I had very good luck fishing both, the new minnow and the “little tough guy” baits you sent. I was very impressed with the new minnow bait. The minnow bait had great action. I used this bait with a client during a fall fishing excursion on Lake Winnebago. As a guide, I was very impressed with the bait's ability to catch as many fish as we did. I tied on the new minnow bait you sent and caught six bigger fish in six consecutive casts from the same area. I gave the rod with the bait, to my client. Needless to say, he was catching them and I wasn't. The fish we were catching with the bait were also bigger and ranged in size from seventeen to twenty inches. Our larges fish was twenty-one inches. We were convinced the bait out produce any thing else similar in my tackle box. Since that day, I went out several times with other clients and repeated the experience each time. I'm very impressed! In addition, I tied on the Little Tough Guy bait I have enclosed while ice fishing recently. As you can see, I have caught so many fish jigging this bait, the tube skirt has a hole in it and is missing an eye. I'm very impressed and a true believer in both baits. With the “Little Tough Guy” bait...the color and tube style skirt made a big difference. As discussed, in our conversation, I've enclosed the bait I am looking for. The green out produced the brown and tube skirt on both out produced the new style split tail.
Outproduced Anything In My Tackle Box
Hi my name is Nathan Randall. Last weekend I was at my cousins grad party and there was a pond. And I found a package of said “Gitzit” and I walked around the pond and I found some fishing line, so I tied on a Gitzit and found a nice spot so started to jig the lure around and I caught about 20 small sunfish the largest was about 7 and a half inches long. Later that day, I told a lot of people to use Gitzits.
Just Found A Package of Gitzits
I write this correspondence from a position of dire circumstance, allow me to explain. “Gitzit” created a one of a kind lure, the “Little Tough Guy”. I purchased a handful of these gems a few years back. At the time, I couldn't conceive of a moment in time when future purchases might become a harrowing experience. Upon visiting your website in order to engage in a direct purchase of a numerical quantity, my chin hit the floor. The illustrations I viewed gave only the identification of a size 8 hook set. When I purchased the “Little Tough Guys” I chose the #10 hook set as the proper designation for my needs. I have learned from time upon the ice, that “finicky inhalers” (Bull Blugills) are wise to such a large #8 hook set. It is my hope that “Gitzit” still manufactures a #10 or ever a smaller hookset in the “Little Tough Guy” series, or that a secondary market distributor exists for any discontinued stock of these smaller hook sets. I am nothing if not forthright, the “Little Tough Guy” has no rival in delivering up strikes form “bull bluegills” through the ice! Please supply onto me all pertinent information regarding my inquiry, via mail or e-mail. I “Thank you” for your efforts upon my behalf, may “Gitzit” continue business success!
"Little Tough Guy" Has No Rival
I saw your address & would like to hear about fish stores using your products. Well I have been using your fan fish little Gitzits for 3 years now and have caught tons and tons of sunfish. I introduced them to my past boss at the resort where I used to work and he has given lots of them away to kids and adults alike, they are the best little baits you can use for catching fan-fish and tip them with leech, nigthcrawler or a wax worm. I think the fish like the skirt, but they bite without the skirt too and they like most of the colors. The bright colors work a little better, but it does not matter. Every spring my old boss and I hurry to Walmart to stock up. Thanks for making a great little lure!
Catching Fanfish With Little Gitzits
I’m a long time user of your Gitzit products and I have found them to be one of the finest fishing lures that I have ever used, and I have recommended to many of my friends, and they agree that they are the finest. I'm 87 years old, and I fish on an average of 5 days a week, if the weather allows me to get my boat on the lakes during the season, if it was not for having Gitzit products, I certainly would not fish as much as I do, but as long as I can get in and out of my boat I'm going to keep on fishing.
Finest Fishing Lures I've Ever Used
Over the past few years, I have moved away from Tournament Bass Fishing. My two sons introduced me to stream and river fishing. Although they fly fish, I have chosen to use an ultra-lite 2 or 4 lb test line. Just being in the water - “living water” - at sunrise on a spring or summer morning is absolutely beautiful. And catching trout or smallmouth is a bonus. I have discovered over the past four years of stream fishing that the 2.5” tube gitzit is an absolute killer for bass and trout. In the winter, I fish for trout on the Mad River, 60 miles west of my home, and in the summer, I fish the Kokosing and Clearfork River, 60 miles northeast. On both rivers, my primary and Go To lure is the 2.5” Gitzit – It is Fantastic! The problem is I cannot find the jigs sold separately in any local tackle shop, including “Dick's”, Cabellas and other large sporting goods stores. When I retired I decided to simplify my life and not use a computer or a cell phone. What a difference it has made. But this has created two problems, without a cell phone, my kids and wife worry about me alone on the river. And because I do not use a computer, I cannot special order items. Therefore, I would appreciate a catalog, especially one that I can order 1/8”, 1/16” or small Gitzit jigs. I have plenty of tubes at this time, but am totally out of jigs and cannot find them anywhere! Thank you so much for you help, I will anxiously await the arrival of your catalog.
Absolute Killer For Bass & Trout
I live in Plattsbugh, NY on Lake Champlain. Several national bass tournaments are held here every summer. I am a bass fisherman and have had great results with he black fat Gitzit. Unit this past year, I was purchasing them at Dick's Sporting Goods in Plattsburg. (I've enclosed the package label). They no longer carry Gitzit nor do they have it listed in their computer so they cannot order it. We also have a Gander Mt Store and they do not carry Gitzit. I tried the computer & only found sales for large quantities in mixed colors. Considering all the bass fishing in this area, we should be able to buy Gitzits locally. Where can I buy black Gitzits? Can I order them directly from you? Any help will be greatly appreciated for this great bass lure.
I Need More Gitzits
Marc Thank you so much! I attached a few pictures of some Browns from this spring. 25 pounds and 39" on 3.5" Pearl white on a 3/8th ounce head. I pack them with scent.
Big Browns
Mark Somyak Tournament Winners We won the FLW National Guard Solider Appreciation Tournament on Saturday 3 fish limit 14.19 lbs. 5.09 big fish.
Recently I bought a 2 pack of Gitzit spider jigs, caught fish like I never caught on a jig before, now everybody around here wants to them. Would you please send me a catalogue as soon as possible as the stores around here aren't stocking before spring.

The Love Of The Lure
Chris Hendershot is a pennsylvilnia native whose life long love of fishing began along the Susquehanna River where he grew up.
The Gitzit Company, which was originally BASS-N-Man, was famous for the Fat Gitzit tube lure, When it fell into bankruptcy in 1992. Chris, thinking he might try his hand at the fishing lure business, acquired Bass-N-Man and began to reorganize the old company.
He spent the following months traveling across the country, contacting old accounts, assuring them that Gitzit would meet their demands and was anxious to service their accounts.
For the next three years Chris collected no salary to help launch Gitzit as a reputable company in the fishing industry. Still today he designs lures that are life like and appeal to both the fish and fishermen. The original Fat Gitzit tube, the Paddle Fry and the Little Tough Guy are some of Gitzit's most sought after.
It is the goal of Gitzit to be involved in Community efforts, especially where children are concerned. It is our way of giving back for the generous support from folks like you who through our seventeen years in the business, have made our journey so rewarding.
